Chapter 4

As Luca finally reached Xofur,he immediately transformed into his human form and pulled his hoodie over his head as he hid the diary in his green jacket.He knew that all Xofurian hated him,so why should he show off his face to public?Covering his face and just walk away unnoticed was the best option he had.

'Hey there.'

"Ugh.Not you again.."Luca muttered silently as the voice inside his head returned.He just realized that ever since he met Anna,that annoying voice never bother him until he was alone,and Luca finds it kinda weird.

'Why are you hiding your pathetic little face from the publi-'

"Stop it."Luca said to himself firmly as he unconciously slapped himself to stop the voice from talking.It worked,but he gained stares from other Xofurians,who were walking by.Luca was thankful that his disguise wasn't revealed,so he  ignored them and countinued on walking towards a place where he was raised..and hated so much.

The Castle of Xofur.

He never told Anna that he was actually a prince because he didn't think it's an important information at all.It didn't matter anyways.He always thought that if he had ever told her about who he actually was,she will be afraid to approach him since she was just a poor human being and refused to befriend with him.Everytime Luca think about this,he would get a terrible panic attack that there might be a chance for him to throw up.

Once he reached the grand gate,he met a guard and said to him,"Good morning.I'd like to meet the king please."The guard nodded and replied,"Sure,Your Highness.Follow me."

'I wonder if this guard hates me too..'Luca thought to himself.

'Are you dumb?Of course he hates y-'

"Your Highness,you're spacing out."The guard cut his train of thought,which made Luca a little surprised and muttered the word "sorry".The two of them then walked for a a few minutes and reached the king-Luca's father's throne room.There,stood Luke Antonio,Luca's father and the king of Xofur,next to a huge window,observing the peaceful enviroment of the town below him.

"You Majesty,your son wants to meet you."said the guard.Luke nodded,and the guard left,leaving Luca and his father.Luca felt nervous and scared that he had to confront the last person he'd like to see in this world,but he decided to follow his heart and be brave.'For our peace.'he thought to himself.

Luca took a deep breath "Father."he said."I'd like to show you something."

However,before Luca managed to countinue,Luke spoke first,sarcastically.

"I didn't expect you to not die throughout your little journey."

Luca was very shocked and offended by his father's word."Father,what's wrong with you?!" 

"Nothing.Just a little dissapointed that you kept on bringing shame to me,as your father."

Luca felt his heart broke into pieces,but he ignored his destroyed feelings.'I'm here to show him something,not getting insulted!Don't let your guard down,Luca!'He quickly reminded himself.

"With all due respect,father,I wanted to show you this."Luca took and showed Luke the diary.Luke narrowed his eyes at the sight of the diary and simply shrugged his shoulders."I've no idea about this old book.Throw it away."

Luca frowned in disbelief."Seriously,father?You seriously had nothing to do with this book?Aren't you feeling any..uh..deja vu?"Luca questioned his father,who was getting even more confused  and annoyed with his son's behaviour.

"No,now get out-"

"How about these,father?You remember them now?"Luca immediately opened the diary,revealing many pictures of Anna's parents with him,sometimes accompanied by Luke's parents.Luke's yellow eyes widened when he saw those pictures.He snatched the diary from Luca and flipped the pages,one by one until the end.He didn't read the story because he was too shocked to read it.Once he finished flipping through the diary,he held it firmly and glared at his son.

The angry king asked,"Where did you found this trash?"

As brave as a lion,Luca replied,"One,it's not a trash.Two,where did I found it is not important,but what's inside this book is important!"

"Very important."Luke mimicked his son and released a chuckle."No need to read this book,I've figured out the answer already.Everyone knew what happened to your grandparents.Humans-or should I say,the Hollands were responsible for their death."said Luke in a furious tone.

Luca gasped in slight anger."Father,don't just jump into conclusions!Read the story that was written in the book.It was the vampires' fault!They killed grandpa and grandma!"

Luke glared at his son,pissed.However,he agreed to read the story that was written by Anna's mother,Emma Holland.Luke read the story,word by word,but his facial expression remained the same.Cold.

"Father."Luca asked."Who were actually Mr and Mrs Holland to you?"

Luke closed the book with a sigh and stared at his son."Ex-bestfriend who stabbed behind my back.I don't need them at all,because trash will always be trash."

Luke's words caused Luca to be extremely pissed and offended.His patience level had bursted through it's limit.For the very first time in his life,he yelled irately."Father,you're the most selfish person I've ever met in the world!You blamed your own bestfriends for a crime that they never commit!As a king,you should act more professional and rational.Instead,you're acting more like a child,you know?!It's the vampires!They wanted to conquer Xofur for almost ten years!Father,please believe me!You deeply knew that your bestfriends won't lie to you,right?!"Luca tried to convince his father.

"Shut it,Luca!You never meet them,yet you're defending them?Huh!Maybe Emma wrote a fake story to unleash her guilt and framed the vampires to cover her and Henry's mistakes!"

"Father,they-"

"You knew nothing,Luca.King Vincent Rutherford,the ruler of vampires and the land of Akass told me that your grandparents were in trouble,so I went to the forest to save them..only to see them dead!Both Emma and Henry held knives that were covered with pure red blood,so it must be them!"Luke adduced,fiercely.Luca could tell that anger his father was very angry as Luke started to bare his sharp fangs and his ears were laid flat at the sides of his head.

Luca was left speechless.With no more evidence in his hands,he can no longer prove his father wrong.If he failed,then the peace between humanity and warefoxes can't be achieved,and he'll break his promise with Anna,the only person who decided to be his only companion when he really needs one.

Luca could only hung his head low and felt upset.With a soft sigh,he muttered,"So..you chose to trust outsiders instead of your own bestfriends?The ones who stayed by your side and made your days better?"

Realisation hit Luke like a bullet,making him felt a little bit guilt.However,he let his ego to overpower him.He was about to say something when Luca countinued,"You let the vampires manipulate you and gained your trust.You pushed away your bestfriends and didn't care about their unknown death!Imagine if they're still alive-they will feel very betrayed and dissapointed by your actions!"

"You called them a traitor when you're the real traitor in you guys' friendship!What kind of friend were you,father?"explained Luca.Luke felt very guilty and kept having flashbacks of him,Henry and Emma spending their wonderful childhood life together until the moment where his parents died right in front of him.

Luke wanted to cry,but his ego stopped him.Angrily,he yelled "Yeah,but it's their fault for being so dumb for listening to my father to not feed them with their blood!!"Luca was very shocked due to Luke's sudden yell and took a step backwards."B-But father-"

"Enough!Stop talking about this anymore!!"

"But-"

"I SAID ENOUGH!NOW GET OUT OF HERE WITH YOUR STUFFS!!"Luke yelled and threw the diary towards Luca,which Luca managed to catch.

"W-W-What?Father,are you trying to..fine!I'm leaving."Luca said bravely and turned around and started walking to left the place.Nonetheless,he stopped midway and turned his head around,looking at his father."Father,the pictures in the diary proved that warefoxes NEVER eat a single flesh in the past,even you.Only because of your stupid assumptions,you obeyed the vampires to eat humans for revenge.Of course,you disagreed,but you became addicted to them once you're forced to eat one.And I'm not sure if I am right,but I'm sure that my assumptions this time are correct."

And so,Luca left the throne room with the diary in his hand without uttering a single word.Luke was severely shocked at his son's statement as sadness and guilt strucked him like a lightning.He felt even more guilty that he shoo-ed Luca away AND framed his dead bestfriends.

Luke knelt to the floor,crying."Mom..Dad..Henry..Emma..Luca.."He sobbed.

"I'm sorry."

KNOCK KNOCK!

Anna was reading a book when she heard a knock at the door."Ah,it's must be Luca."she thought to herself before placing the book gently on the table and walked towards the door and opened it.With a smile,she greeted,"Hello,Luca!Is everything al...wha??What's with your luggages?"Anna questioned Luca as she saw two luggages besides him.

"Oh,my father kicked me out of the castle,but everything's fine.I don't need to deal with government stuffs,they're boring and complicated."Luca explained and inserted a joke in his explanation.

"\WOA WOA WOA WAIT!!ARE YOU TRYING TO SAY THAT WE'RE LIVING TOGETHER FROM NOW ON???"Anna exclaimed in a high-pitched tone.Her house was a little bit distant from the town,so everyone could barely hear her voice.

Luca was surprised at her sudden exclaim and accidently yeeted the diary at Anna,and it hit her head."Oww!"

"O-Oh no Anna!I'm so sorry!I-I-I didn't mean to!"Luca quickly apologized and panicked to see her forehead a little red.

"You apologetic freak,no need to apologize!I'm the one who freaked you out,so I'm sorry!"

"O-Oh..thank goodness."Luca said in relief."But what did you called me?Apologetic freak??"

"You kept on apologizing over unnecessary things since chapter one,you know!HAHAHHA!!"Anna joked.

"Pfft-Haha!"Luca laughed at her joke.It's very rare for him to release a pure laughter.

"Now shut up.Get inside before it gets dark.Yeet your things on the couch and lets eat something first!I'M STARVIIIIING!!!"Anna said and ran towards the kitchen,almost tripped in the process which made Luca laughed again.

That evening,they had chicken porridge for dinner.As they eat,Anna asked if everything was okay when Luca met his father."Everything was kinda wonky,but I did gave him a lesson."

Anna almost chocked on her food."WHAAAT?!DID YOU BEAT HIM UP?!"

"N-No!I just reminded him of his old friendship with your parents and left,that's all I swear!"Luca sweated profusely,again,surprised at Anna's overreactons.

"Phew.So,what are we going to do next?"

"Hmm..not sure.."Luca replied."Maybe I'll try to keep an eye on Xofur.Those vampires,especially their king probably will do something to my hometown.I'll try observing them as much as possible."

Anna hummed,satisfied with his idea."Okay,but don't become an idiot and mess up,because if you do,I'll offer myself to the sharks in the sea."

Luca chuckled.He knew that Anna was just joking.

"I promise."
