Chapter 6

 "He is right."

"I am weak."

"I am a failure."

"I shouldn't be alive."

"I shouldn't be there for everyone."

"But thanks to him,I can finally rest in peace now."

"And everyone would be so happy."

"Farewell,cruel world."

As if those were Luca's last words,he was ready to face the music.He was ready to leave this cruel world behind,ready to leave everyone who hates him,ready to finally give harmony to this land,ready to give up on his hopes and ready to end his life...

...in the hand of Vincent Rutherford's.

Luca can't do anything anymore.Most of his bones were broken,red blood here and there,his heart was starting to slow it's beat and the oxygen was too heavy for him to be breath in.

In other words,Luca was dying.

By only one hand,Luca's neck was caught in Vincent's grip.It was chocking him of course,but Luca felt no fear.He was prepared for his death.Vincent snorted in derision."This is why you should just give up your earlier."He said."Worry not.I'll make you a wonderful death."

Vincent tightened his grip and strangled Luca even harder.Luca can barely breath.He struggled to breath as his face turned blue slowly.His motions were starting to slow down and he could only see the orange sky.Luca was intended to accept his fate,but dying slowly was a torture.

'Goodbye..'mumbled Luca as he closed his eyes,greeting death.

"Huh."Vincent huffed.As he was about to strengthen his grip,out of nowhere,a knife appeared flying and grazed his hand,enough to make Vincent release his grip.

Luca found himself on the ground safely and started to cough and panted for air.He almost forgot how fresh the oxygen was because he was too focused on his death,which didn't happen yet.As he was coughing countinuosly,someone rubbed his back several times until he stopped coughing.

Luca turned his head frailly to see his saviour."A-Anna..?"

"Luca,you're hurt!Stop moving or talking,let me heal you!I bought a first aid kit!"Anna said with panic and worry laced in her voice.She was about to take out her first aid kit,but Luca stopped her.

"Anna,this isn't the right time.."

"You idiot,if I don't heal you,you'll die!!"

"N-No..you"ll die too..if we don't stop him.."

Luca said as he pointed his shaky hand towards a direction.Anna noticed the man that she threw the knife at was trying to get rid of the item and thrusted into his wrist which was covered with blood.

"Who is he?"she asked.

"Vincent,the man who's..responsible for your parents' dead.."

"WHAT?!"Anna exclaimed.She can't believe her own eyes.The cause of the murder of her parents.She had found him.

And Anna was totally angry and pissed.

"Hey,you!"She called for him."Don't you think you can get away with this,stupid murderer!"

Anna took out another knife from her bag and was about to run for him,but Luca stopped her."Anna,you know that he's a vampire,right?Look at me,I was attacked by him!You can get injured!"

Anna held herself from crying.She doesn't want to look weak in front of anyone,neither Vincent nor Luca."But I've found him!I will finish him and let him feel what my parents had felt!!"

Luca placed his hands on Anna's shoulders.Taking a deep breath,he asked her hesitantly."Anna,have you forgot your own promise?"

Anna seemed to be a bit puzzled with his question."Promise?"

"Don't you remember?You said that you'll feed me with your own blood so I can gain strength and live as a real warefox,right?"

"Uhhhh...no?"

"Recall the memory of our first meeting at the cave weeks ago!"

Anna frowned at Luca's request.Instead of disagreeing,she decided to dug into her own mind,searching for an old memory that she can't even remember.After a few moments,a light bulb appeared on her head."Ohh,I remember it now!"

"Woooow,love goals,how romantic."Vincent chimed in.He accomplished to remove the knife from his bloodied hand."So you're the daughter of those weirdos that my people killed years ago?Congratulations for being alive,because you've finally found me."Vincent said plainly yet sarcasticly."Oh,and thanks to your parents,I've gained Luke's trust for years."

"Just ignore him and do your thing."Luca whispered to Anna who was about to snap at that sarcastic and boring Vincent.She exhaled sharply before saying,"Alright.But get ready for some changes that I don't even know."

Anna cut her arm and a few drops of blood landed on Luca's palm.After a few more drops,he proceed to drink it when Vincent interrupted them.

"Oh,so you're finally consuming blood?Cool."that's all he said before he ran towards them and tried to kick Luca's hands to prevent him from drinking Anna's blood,but missed.Anna's special passed down blood had been swallowed by Luca.

The three of them waited for a few seconds,but nothing happens.Vincent wasted no time as he grabbed Luca by his hoodie again and slammed him to the ground.Anna who was nearby was devastated and speechless due to shockness.

"Eh,dead already?"he said upon seeing Luca unmoved on the ground."I'm not going to suck his disgusting blood."Vincent looked at Anna,who had her eyes widened."Don't worry,I'm not going to kill you since your blood probably has killed your boyfriend.It might've kill me too."

He then walked slowly towards Anna.Anna was too afraid to move.She could only move her eyeballs.When Vincent stopped and stood right next to her,he clawed her head lightly,enough to not to injure her."However,I bet that you're not going to stay silent,aren't you?"

'N-no..L-Luca,wake up..'Anna prayed as she shivered in fear.

"I'll make you join your parents then."

"N-No!St-Stop!"Anna begged as she pushed Vincent's hands away.Her fingers lightly grazed against his sharp nails.

Vincent ignored her begs and proceeded to finish her when something pounded onto him.A black-coloured fox in human outfits were topping him,showing it's long sharp fangs.It also had shiny golden eyes,glaring through Vincent's.

"L-Luca?!"Anna exclaimed."Y-You're alive!!"

Luca didn't replied.He was too focused at attacking Vincent,who shoved him to the side."Woah,you're super strong now.Guess I have to become more serious then."Vincent said.All of the sudden,a red and orange mist surrounded him and a sword appeared from his right hand.

'WWWWOOOOOWWWWW THAT'S SO COOL!!!!' Anna thought to herself.Indeed,she hated Vincent so much,but how could she say 'no' to such amazing magic abilities?

"Come here,kitty..or puppy..whatever.I'll cut you to shreds!"Vincent provoked Luca in a semi-loud voice.Luca didn't wait longer and ran towards him in a blink of an eye.Vincent was a little surprised to see improvements in Luca's speed,but managed to dodge.He swung his sword as fast as he could towards Luca to slice him up,however Luca was way faster than him.Luca then bit Vincent's free hand and released it,damaging it entirely.

'W-What kind of warefox is this?'Vincent questioned himself.He was very confused.He had fought and successfully killed lots of Xofurians who transformed into their fox form,but for Luca,it wasn't easy.

For the first time ever,Vincent felt a little fear.

Meanwhile,Anna being Anna,was super hyped to see Luca turned the tables.She had forgot about her terror and kept cheering for Luca."Yeah Luca!Go get him!"

Vincent doesn't have enough time to prepare his next attack.Luca was being to fierce and restless.He started to panic and wonder if he's going to die in Luca's hands.

'Hold it,what am I doing?I was too afraid to fight against a fox.Gosh I'm so stupid.'Vincent thought to himself and 'activated' his dead mode.He regained his confidence and somehow managed to caught Luca by his neck.Anna jawdropped to see Luca in Vincent's grip again."Luca no!"

"I've made a silly mistake.You're amazing,Antonio.You took my courage away and stole the show.Now,it's my turn to perform the finale."Vincent smirked and chuckled evillishly. 

He strangled Luca,making the fox-boy chocked."Fox or not,you're still weak!Now prepare for your death!And don't forget,you're next,human girl!Hahaha!"Vincent laughed maniacally.

He brought the sword close to Luca's neck.Witnessing this,Anna shouted,"Vincent,stop!!!"

"Say goodbye to your little fox,human!"Vincent shouted to her before he swung his sword to the side and about to reswung it to slash Luca's neck.

"Not so fast!"

"Huh?"A sharp pain hit his abdomen,causing Vincent to stop what he's doing.The vampire ruler then felt something warm at his abdomen.

Blood.

Then,more and more pain hit him like a bullet.No..it were bullets.Vincent was shot at his feet,legs and torso.The vampire king screamed in pain and fell to the ground,uncouncious.

"What.."Anna said confusingly.Then,he saw few strangers suddenly appeared from their hiding spot."W-woah,more warefoxes??What's going on?"

"Miss Holland,right?"A voice greeted her from behind.Anna turned her head around just to saw a middle-aged man who looked similar to Luca."Y-Yes..How do you know my family name?"

"From your mother's diary."He said with a small smile."Her name's Emma,correct?"

Anna gasped when she heard her mother's name.Immediately,she stood up and bowed down quickly once she realized the man's identity.'"C-Correct,Your Highness!I'm Anna Holland and you're must be King Luke Antonio!G-Good evening!"

Luke chuckled delightly."No need to bow like that.Just call me Mr.Luke."

"Y-Yes,Mr.Luke!"

Luke chuckled again but then stooped at the sight of his son.Luca who had already return to his human form.His men were bandaging his cuts and healing his wounds."You two went through enough despite of your young age.I'm sorry.."said Luke as he looked down.

"Ehh??Why are you apologizing?You did nothing wrong!"said Anna frantically.

Luke sighed."Because of me,you lost your parents and...being a bad father to Luca.He doesn't deserve me at all."

"Mr.Luke,the past will always be the past.I've accepted my parents' dead long time ago,and their death teach me the meaning of life.If not,I don't think I'll get to experience an adventurous and meaningful life..and I probably won't get to meet Luca,my only friend!"explained Anna alongside with a smile that rarely left her face.

"Besides,Luca did dislikes you,but I'm sure that he still values you.I mean,why did he sacrifice himself for the vampires if not for his own hometown?I'm sure that he did all of this for the sake of you and Xofur."said Anna wholeheartedly.

"Is that so?"Luke asked.Anna simply nodded.

Luke then walked calmly towards Luca,who was still thankfully alive.Luca noticed his father and immdiately looked away.

"I'm proud of you.And please,apologize me,my son."Luke begged as he almost sobbed in front of his son.Upon hearing his father's words,Luca looked at him and a small made it's way to his lips."Yeah,sure."

Afterwards,Luca's vision slowly blurred and he lost his conciousness.
