Chapter 7 (ENDING)

Viviant sunlight.

Crystal clear sky.

Pure white cloud.

Birds flying happily.

Window frame.

Those were the first things that Luca saw once he opened his eyes."Ugh..where..where am I?"He thought to himself."I'm on a bed??"

said Luca as he found himself laying on a comfortable bed.He tried to get up,unfortunately pain striked his back like a bullet.Luca groaned in pain and laid back on the bed again,trying to stop the pain.

"Ah,Your Highness.You're awake,morning!"A young woman with short black haired entered and greeted him cheerfully."How are you feeling?"she asked as she placed a tray with a bowl of porridge and a cup of mineral water.

"Worse."Luca quickly replied."Wait a minute,where am I?"

"You're in the medical room of the Castle of Xofur,Your Highness."The woman replied calmly."My name is Isabella and I'm one of the nurses here.You've probably seen me right?"

"Um..yeah..sorta.."Luca replied slowly."Hold on,Castle of Xofur?I thought I was at my friend's house,wasn't I?"He stated his confusion.

"Well Your Highness.Don't you remember?You've fought the vampire King in an abandoned forest five days ago and gained terrible injuries."

Luca stared at Isabella for a few seconds before adjusted his gaze to the window next to him.He tried to remember everything that happened days ago and realized about it."Oh!I remember it now.."

Luca suddenly looked at the older woman frantically and asked,"W-Where's Vincent?Is he dead already or not-"

"He was being taken into custody and will be released two days later."A man chimed in.Both Luca and Isabella looked at the person who entered the room.Discomfort almost took over Luca when he saw the person,but he decided to ignore it."Father."

"Good morning,Your Majesty."greeted Isabella."I will be taking my leave."

After Isabella left,Luke sat on a chair next to Luca's bed."How are you?"he asked,trying to start a healthy conversation.This was actually their first time talking normally without starting an arguement.

"G-Good.."Luca replied hesitantly.

You loser,don't you remember that he hates you?

The voice that haven't haunt Luca for days returned to scare Luca.Luca shivered as he suddenly remembered all of the abusive words that his father said to him.He hated it.It made him feel a bit nauseous.

Luke noticed that his son was shaking violently.He sighed lightly and placed one of his hands on Luca's head and rubbed it,in order to soothe him."Luca..I am really sorry for what have I done to you.My traumatic past influenced me for years until I don't realize that I was abusing you.I'm really,really sorry."Luke apologized.

Luca looked at him with a surprised face."N-No..it's okay,Father.."

"But I've gotta be honest,you're the best person I've ever met.You ruined Vincent's plans and saved Xofur.You're trully a lifesaver.I can't imagine what'll happen if you're not taking action."Luke looked at his son dearly and said,"I'm proud of you,son."

Luca was slightly flustered and looked away."W-Well..thank you.."he mumbled softly,but still audible to Luke.It made him chuckled.

"LUCA YOU'RE ALIVE THANK GOODNESS!"All of the sudden,Anna came in and almost stumbled over her own foot."I WAS SUPER WORRIED,YOU KNOW??"

"W-Woah Anna slow down!"Luca said as he tried to calm the energetic girl."So you're the person who changed my son,ey?"said Luke.He honestly never expect that a human girl could change Luca's quiet personality.Luca usually remained silent when he was questioned.He could only speak after being forced.Luke regretted his abusive actions very much and wanted to turn over a new leaf.

"Me?Change him?Oh,Mr.Luke don't be silly!From my experience,Luca was an easily-influenced person.Act as dumb as possible in front of him and his little heart would like to do it too!HAHAHAHAH!!"joked Anna.Luca almost chocked on his own breath upon hearing Anna's joke.

"Anna!Stop it,that's not true!Father,don't trust her.She's stupid."Luca denied.

"HEY!!I'M NOT STUPID!"

The two teenagers then argued for a little,which made Luke felt really happy.He suddenly remembered the times when he hung out with his old bestfriends,Henry and Emma.

"Hey Luke,watch this."Henry whispered to him.Luke looked at him excitedly.Henry then called out for his fiance,Emma,who was busy collecting random pebbles just to throw them from a nearby cliff.

"Emma!"

"Yeah?"

"Wanna hear something?"

"What?"Emma ran towards him,thrilled.

"I have a crush on you.Very big.Like a dinasour."

Both Henry and Emma laughed at his jokes.Luke seemed to not get it.He's still single so he had no idea what're they talking about.

"Aww,Luke,my buddy,you'll found yours in no time,don't worry!We're all 21,you still have time ahahahah!"Henry joked."Oh,by the way,we'll be having dinner at your place with Mr and Mrs Antonio.We'll be heading home now,see ya!"

Luke was too 'slow' to realize about everything.After two seconds,he said,"O-Ohh right!Haha sorry,I was thinking about something else earlier."

"You're such an obtuse person Luke,and that's why we really enjoyed your company!"Emma spoke happily,and the three of them laughed together.

"Earth for Mr.Luke!You still there?Helloooo??"said Anna as she snapped her fingers in front of Luke's face.Luke finally snapped out of his thoughts and stuttered,"Y-Yes?"

"What are you thinking,Father?"Luke asked.

"..Nothing."Luke replied calmly.He missed his bestfriends so much.

"Father,you've said that Vincent will be released from his custody two days later.Is everything going to be perfectly fine??"Luca stated his worries to his father as he changed the topic.He doesn't wanted to see his father being gloomy all day long.

"Mhm."

"Are you sure?Why are you so confident?"

"Vincent gave his word of honor that he and his fellow vampires will never disturb us again.He was also diagnosed with trauma and developed a phobia called Alepouphobia,which means a fear of foxes."Luke explained.Anna almost laughed.

"Trauma?Fear of foxes?Why??"Luca asked,extremely puzzled.

"Pfft-you don't need to know about it."said Anna as she giggled internally.

Luke chuckled before looked at his grown-up son."Hey,Luca?"

Luca looked at his father."Yes?"

"Would you like to return to your original position as the only prince of Xofur?"

Luke asked carefully."Don't worry,I've told everyone about your sarifice and heroic adventures.The Xofurians will now respect you."

Luca's face lightened up.His eyes shone like a diamond."F-For real?Of course!Thank you,Father!"Luca thanked Luke and tackled him into a hug,which made Anna squeled.

"And as for you Anna,I've found your foster parents who wanted to take care of you.They live in the same town as you too."

Anna stopped squealing and tried to munch on Luke's words.Once she understood Luke's words,she gasped and shrieked in pure happiness."Oh my goodness,t-thank you so much Mr.Luke!I'll never forget your good deeds!!"said Anna as she hugged Luke.Luke felt glad that everything was finally over and peaceful.

Since that day,Luca had a wonderful life as a prince,warefox and teenager.Warefoxes no longer consume human flesh and have to restrain themselves from doing so or else they'll be punished.Of course,it was hard at the beginning but all warefoxes successfully overcome their cravings for human flesh.

Luca made new friends and was respected by all Xofurians.

Meanwhile,Anna once again lived a happy life with her kind foster parents.Thanks to Luke Antonio,the inhabitant of her town accepted her with open hands and nobody hates her anymore,which she was very thankful for.She even made new friends!

Even though Luca and Anna finally found their happy endings,they never forgot about each other.Sometimes,they talked by phone and hang out during the weekends.Both of them were glad that fate was definitely a beautiful thing.If Luca and Anna never met at the cave,they'll never talk to each other,never had any character development,never get to stop the vampires and never get to solve their mysterious past!

So that's the story of a male warefox and a female human who were hopeless in the first place but eventually found happiness and harmony behind their struggles and grief.Life is just like a wall which sealed the darkness and grief in it.If you don't sneak out of it,who'll ever know about the relief and joyfulness beyond it,right?

Life is an adventure.You go through ups and downs most of the times,but thats what make life much more meaningful.About your past..ignore it because the past will never change!Focus on your future instead,and trust me,you'll found your happy ending.
